The virtual Arizona Middle School Science Bowl was a success this past weekend! The middle school students from these 3 teams competed fiercely for their spots and we are proud to announce that The Davidson Academy of Nevada came in 1st Place, BASIS Peoria came in 2nd Place and BASIS Scottsdale came in 3rd Place.
Solugenix and the Arizona Technology Council have sponsored the Arizona Science Bowl since 2007 and as there is no sponsor in Nevada, they have permitted Nevada teams to also participate in the competition.
The Arizona Science Bowl brings together students who are passionate about STEM to compete against each other with fast-paced questions within a range of science disciplines, such as biology, chemistry, Earth and space science, physics and math. Middle School and High School student teams participate from all across the country. Each team is composed of four or five students and a teacher who serves as an advisor and coach. All of the students and their team in our top 3 teams competed passionately and we are so proud to have been a part of making this competition possible.
The Middle School Semi-Final will be held virtually on Saturday, May 7th, 2022. All champions from the regional tournaments will compete in the semi-finals to determine the Top 8 Teams that will be invited to compete in the National Championship July 8th-12th, 2022 in Washington DC.
The Arizona Science Bowl is sponsored and organized by Solugenix Corporation, in coordination with the Arizona Technology Council Foundation. The event is also supported by the ASU New College School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences.
